BTG Pactual became the majority shareholder of Nubank Parque, the Palmeiras stadium formerly called Allianz Parque, through a deal with WTorre, which keeps a relevant stake. The bank takes over arena management through 2044, the value was not disclosed and the deal depends on Cade. Enforce, BTG's credit recovery arm, had bought about R$ 650 million of WTorre debt in 2024, according to Bloomberg Línea and Correio Braziliense.

Central Bank changes Pix rules: waiver for institutions above 500,000 accounts, Pix Automático in payroll accounts in 2027 and immediate suspension in liquidation

The Central Bank regulated a package of Pix changes on September 18. Institutions with more than 500,000 active accounts may be exempted from mandatory participation when their client profile does not justify it; Pix Automático becomes available in payroll accounts from July 1, 2027; hybrid billing, which merges bank slips and QR codes, and new fraud-flagging rules take effect on February 1, 2027; and institutions under extrajudicial liquidation are suspended immediately.

Nubank launches in the US with Lead Bank: a 3.5% account and a 1.5% cashback card while it awaits its charter

Nubank announced on September 10 the start of its US operations in partnership with Lead Bank, an FDIC-insured institution that holds the deposits: an account yielding 3.5% a year, fee-free transfers and a no-fee credit card with 1.5% cashback, plus Nu Global, a digital dollar and euro account (USDC at 3.5% and EURC at 2.2%) for more than 35 countries. Its own bank charter, conditionally approved by the OCC in January, is expected in 2027.
