What sources are saying

The current account gap hit US$ 8.1 billion in July, above the US$ 6.6 billion forecast, totaling US$ 62.9 billion over 12 months (2.49% of GDP). July FDI of US$ 7.5 billion came below the prior year, but 12-month FDI (US$ 88.4 billion, 3.5% of GDP) still covers the gap.

Coffee exports set an August record at 4.15 million bags, up 31%, with US$ 1.33 billion in revenue

Brazil exported 4.15 million 60-kg bags of coffee in August, the best August on record, up 31% from August 2025, with revenue of US$ 1.33 billion (+19.8%) despite an 8.6% lower average price, per Cecafé; the late arrival of new-crop arabica, delayed by July rains, and a jump in conilon explain the volume. Year to date, shipments total 25.07 million bags (-1.2%), with a 21.6% drop to the United States.
